Sephora Favorites: Give Me Some Nude Lip Review

Lipstick set

Sephora Favorites: Give Me Some Nude Lip set. $28

I recently picked up this set when I was shopping with one of friends on a Saturday night trip to the mall. I have to admit, I am a sucker for a good nude lip, so when I saw this set I was beyond excited. It comes with six different lippies, and one of them is a full size. In my opinion, that is a great deal for $28. The set isn't perfect, but deluxe size products do not always work as well as the full size, so you have to take that into consideration when deciding to purchase a set like this.

Lipstick set

In this set is the Anastasia Beverly Hills® Lip Gloss in Kristen, Marc Jacobs Beauty’s Enamored Hi Shine Lip Lacquer in Sugar Sugar, NARS Cosmetics Velvet Lip Glide in Bound, Tarte lippie lingerie matte tint in Revealed, Too Faced Lip Injection Glossy in Spice Girl, and Urban Decay Vice Waterproof Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in Trivial.

Pros: The Marc Jacobs lip gloss is amazing. It is a thicker lip gloss and it smells so good! It is perfect alone, or on top of a regular lipstick. Sometimes if I am wearing a very drying liquid lip, I need to put something on top - otherwise my lips kill me throughout the day - and this lip gloss is a perfect resolution to this problem.

As far as the Urban Decay liquid lipstick, I am well aware that there have been a lot of negative reviews regarding the formula of these lipsticks, but I don't mind them. I actually really enjoy this one, and I don't have any issues with application. It goes on so well, and it is one of the longest lasting liquid lipsticks I have. The color is rather bright, and if I'm being honest, it does not always look the best on me. Depending on how much bronzer and blush I use, this color on my pale skin isn't the most flattering, but if I can get the rest of my face to cooperate, then it looks amazing.

The Anastasia lip gloss is also a great product in this set. Just like the Marc Jacobs gloss, this one is also on the thicker side. It is a dark lip, but I honestly don't mind at all, even with my fair skin. The gloss also isn't super sticky, which I greatly appreciate because sometimes that can be the downside to a good lip gloss with your hair always getting caught in it as you walk to class. I think this shade would look great on just about anyone.

My Winner: The Tarte lippie is by far my favorite part of this set. I love this shade, which is surprising because I am usually quite hesitant about darker shades. It is a reddish-brown, so if you are afraid of wearing a red lip like I am (because it can sometimes make your teeth look yellow), this lippie is for you because it makes my teeth look great. It looks perfect with my skin tone, and the application is so easy. With one swipe, the pigmentation is mind-blowing. It is so full coverage, and it feels so comfortable on the lips. It makes me want to purchase more lippie lingeries in different shades from Tarte in the future.

Cons: I hate to say this but the NARS lip glide is just not for me. I know it isn't a liquid lipstick, so it is not meant to be long lasting, but this stuff literally slides right off. I don't think it is worth it to spend money on a full size lipstick ($26 for the full size, which is only 2 dollars less than this whole set) if is not going to last at all. The pigmentation also isn't the best, and this particular color is basically the same shade as my lips. I'm just not a fan.

And finally, the Too Faced gloss. My poor lips cannot tolerate the plumping affect of these glosses. They smell and taste chemically, and they are so painful. I have used them before, and I honestly cannot keep them on for longer than fifteen minutes before I need to take it off. The gloss also isn't that thick, and the pigmentation could be better too. Overall, it is my least favorite part about this set, but I still think this set is worth it even with the cons.

Hopefully this review was helpful! Let me know what you guys think if you have tried it. I would love to hear all your thoughts and opinions!
