5 New Beauty Products You Need To Try
Hello, everyone!
Recently I have been trying out a whole host of new beauty products. I have had a bunch of coupons for the drugstore and Ulta kept sending me 20% off coupons, so I decided to purchase a bunch of products that I had been holding off on buying. Not everything I have tried has been awesome, and I will post on those duds at another time, but for today, I want to talk about the products that I have been reaching for daily, and loving!

1. Dr. Jart+ Cicapair Tiger Grass Camo Drops
About a year ago, I tried out Dr. Jart+ Tiger Grass Color Correcting Cream and I quickly became obsessed. I used it on days when I did not want to wear foundation because it just a moisturizer that color corrects to match your skin tone. As someone with both fair and dry skin, I deal with a ton of redness and flakiness year round, so a cream that can take care of both of those issues is a gift. When I heard that Dr. Jart+ expanded their Tiger Grass range, I was thrilled and I could not wait to try out this new product.
It works the same as the cream except it is in a serum/liquid formula. I just take two to three drops, blend it into the skin, and it gives my face a nice smooth, even coverage. When I say coverage, of course, I mean very light coverage. This simply takes care of any redness or discoloration. You are going to need some concealer if you have any other issues going on.
I really enjoy this stuff because it claims to give the skin a "glow from within" kind of look, and it does just that. It really gives the skin a nice dewy finish. However, according to my boyfriend, this stuff makes me look "shiny," as compared to my usual matte finish, but if you have dry skin like me, your face needs that hydration. This serum has never clogged my pores or caused any irritation, and it lasts pretty well in the heat even when it is not set with a powder. I wish it blended down a bit lighter, but it doesn't leave me looking super orange, so I can't complain (I have had worse). I think this product is perfect for the summer if you enjoy nice, light makeup that doesn't feel too heavy on the skin.
The Dr. Jart+ Cicapair Tiger Grass Camo Drops are available at Sephora for $46
2. Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Serum
Another day, another Neutrogena product. Who isn't surprised?!? Next to Cerave, this has to be one of my favorite brands. I recently had a nice coupon for a Neutrogena product, and I decided to give this serum a try. I was stuck between this one and the Multivitamin Booster, but I didn't really know what purpose the latter served, so I went with the serum instead. Sometimes I find that a moisturizer is not enough, so I need to go in with a serum when I can, and I have already almost used this one up completely - that's just how much I use it.
Since using this serum, my dry patches have reduced significantly. I used to have super dry skin that would flake no matter how much moisturizer I applied, but now my skin is the happiest it has been in a long time. The serum helps take care of my dryness and keep it at bay all day long, and I love how lightweight it is since it does not feel heavy on the skin. I even find that this stuff works so well that I do not even need to use a moisturizer at all if I am in a rush; that's how well it works. I think anyone with dry skin should give this serum a try.
3. Gold Bond Radiance Renewal Hydrating Lotion
I feel like I need to thank my mother for this one as she recommended I give it a try. I have mentioned this before, but my dry skin doesn't stop at my face. I deal with all-over body dryness, which at times can be hard to manage. Perhaps this will make me sound lazy, but sometimes I just can't bring myself to use a good body lotion every day, especially if I cannot tell if it is making a huge difference. However, that has all changed after I discovered this gem.
This moisturizer is formulated to help exfoliate the skin while it hydrates so that it is really helping to renew your skin (the name is fitting) all while getting rid of the dead top layer that sits on the surface. After using this one night, the next day I took a washcloth to scrub my neck and chest and wow what a difference. Not only did my skin feel better, but it looked incredible. I have been using it for over a week now and I have seen such an incredible change in the health of my skin. My neck and chest usually get so dry and itchy, but now I feel way more comfortable and no longer experience those same issues. This is the first time ever that I have fallen in love with a lotion that isn't for my face!
The Gold Bond Radiance Renewal Hydrating Lotion is available on Amazon for $7.97
4. Peace Out Pores Pore Strips
I wasn't intending on trying out these pores/blackhead strips, but I am thankful that I got the opportunity to do so. These strips were sent to me from PinchMe (a free sample website that sends free samples to qualified members in exchange for honest reviews on their website). I have gotten a few samples from the site before, but normally the samples are not full size, which shocked me when I got this in the mail. [For the record, I am not being paid to say any of this.]
I received a full size package that contained 4 pore strips and 4 blackhead strips, which would normally retail for almost 20 bucks at Sephora. What I really enjoyed about these was the fact that they are hydrocolloid patches, which I have used for acne before. Essentially hydrocolloid patches are bandaids that suck out dirt, pus, oil, or really any crap laying under the surface of the skin without damaging the outer layer. I think they work better than any spot treatment and I especially like how gentle they are on the skin.
Spot treatments leave my skin feeling dry, but these patches take care of my clogged pores overnight without leaving my face dry and irritated. I recommend hydrocolloid patches to all of my friends, and I am going to recommend these to you all! They truly are great.
The Peace Out Pores Pore Strips are available at Sephora for $19.99
5. Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer w/ Coconut Oil
The last product on here is one I had been wanting to try for the longest time. I have tried the wet skin self tanner before and liked how it made my skin feel, not necessarily how it looked, so I really wanted to test the regular version. There are a few different versions, but I am a huge fan of all things coconut, so that is the one I went with.
I really enjoy the ease of this product. Sometimes putting on lotion can be a bit annoying because it makes my hands all slippery and makes my clothing stick to my skin, so I love the idea of getting to apply lotion on dry skin and just patting it dry. It is super easy, which makes my nightly routine a lot quicker. It also makes my skin feel really smooth and soft. I think a wet skin moisturizer is such a cool idea, and I cannot recommend this enough.
The Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer w/Coconut Oil is available on Amazon for $7.99
